Farajah Ukondwa, MSc, PMP
President/CEO
Driven by a passion for construction, Mr. Ukondwa brings extensive experience and a commitment to excellence to his role as President/CEO of M&R Construction Group Inc. Before founding the company in 2012, Mr. Ukondwa honed his skills as a project manager with a local general contractor in the DMV area. Under his leadership, M&R Construction Group Inc. has flourished, transitioning from custom home building to commercial construction in 2015. His core values of excellence, service, and integrity are the foundation of the company's success. As President/CEO, Mr. Ukondwa is responsible for team building, client development, and overseeing all aspects of the company's operations, including vision, safety, quality control, and strategic direction. He maintains leadership and executive responsibility for all commercial construction, renovation, and new business development projects. Mr. Ukondwa exceptional communication skills ensure seamless project execution from conception and design development through to completion. Mr. Ukondwa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Network Engineering from Strayer University and a Master's Degree in Construction Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a member in good standing with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Tim Wright
Director of Construction and New Development
With over 25 years of experience in the commercial construction industry, Tim Wright is a highly accomplished professional with a proven track record of success. As a Project manager, Tim has honed his skills in construction management, project supervision, and client relations. His background in business communication and construction technology, coupled with multiple certifications (including NICET Level IV), makes him a well-rounded and knowledgeable leader. Tim's hands-on experience includes overseeing large-scale projects, managing teams of 50+ construction workers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. He is proficient in various software solutions, including Procore, BuilderTREND, and STACK Estimating, which streamline construction processes and enhance efficiency. Tim's dedication to quality craftsmanship, combined with his strong leadership and communication skills, make him an invaluable asset to our team. He is committed to delivering projects on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. In his free time, Tim enjoys fishing, exploring new destinations, and meeting new people.
Zawadi Sakapalla - MBA
Vice President of Operation
A dynamic and savvy professional with an MBA and over 13 years of experience in the construction industry, Zawadi Sakapalla brings a wealth of expertise to her role as Vice President of Operations at M&R Construction Group Inc. She is responsible for overseeing and managing operations in both the Maryland and Washington DC offices. Zawadi's exceptional leadership and strategic thinking have been instrumental in fostering long-term client relationships and driving repeat business for the organization. Her ability to collaborate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and suppliers has enabled her to maximize business opportunities and overcome challenges throughout the company's growth. Prior to joining M&R Construction Group Inc., Zawadi co-founded the Sakapala Community Centre, demonstrating her commitment to empowering underserved communities. Zawadi holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland and has maintained a Maryland Real Estate License for the past 19 years. Her diverse background and unwavering dedication make her an invaluable asset to the M&R Construction Group Inc. team.
